Blue Sky was created circa 2003, not long after the death of my mother. I met my partner of sixteen years towards the end of my mothers’ illness. The painting was a way to embrace the peace I knew she was now in, even in light of my grief, while fully accepting this new opportunity to experience love in my life. It was my way of looking up and finding hope for my future. I was floating on a cloud into my next chapter.
